Popis: | The investigations revealed that hydrodynamic speed reducers of the Foettinger-transformer type offer a practical way of speed reduction under conditions which render mechanical reduction gears unsatisfactory. The indicated efficiencies of the reducers varied from about 90% at transmission ratios below 5, to about 82 to 85% at transmission ratios above 15. The size and weight of hydrodynamic transmissions appeared to compare favorably with other types of transmissions, particularly at high powers and high speeds. |
