Popis: | Although the function of the leg veins might seem to be the passive transport of blood from the foot to the heart, the venous system is far more hemodynamically active than the arterial system. In addition to transporting blood back to the heart, the veins are responsible for the regulation of body temperature, balancing cardiac output and as a reservoir for blood. In fact as much as two-thirds of the body’s total blood volume may be in the venous system at any one time. |
