Over a decade the charging of locally available electric vehicles like easy-bikes and motorized rickshaws have been imposing a significant amount of load on the national grid of Bangladesh. Because of the large number of these electric vehicles being charged at specific hours of the day, their charging load has brought about a great concern for the power distribution system. In this paper, a statistical analysis has been performed to study the effect of charging electric vehicles on the daily load curve. In doing so, the daily load curve of 2005 was mapped to the load curve of 2018 and was compared to observe the effect, considering different percentages of electric vehicles connected to the grid for charging. Also, peak generation and respective hours for the last eleven years were also analyzed to spot the shift in the peak generation time during peak hours. |
