Inluence of hydrothermal treatment on the structure and catalytic properties of zeolite Y

Popis: 1. The change in the properties of zeolite Y as a result of treatment with 100% water vapor at various temperatures was investigated. The catalytic activity drops sharply only after treatment of the zeolite at 750°. 2. The adsorption properties decrease after treatment at steam temperature of only 650°. 3. The cubic lattice characteristic of zeolites of the faujazite type is preserved; however, its linear parameters decrease: the values of the interplane distances are reduced by an average of 1.9%, which corresponds to a decrease in the lattice parameter a from 24.6 to 24.12A. When the temperature of treatment of zeolite Y is increased, there is a gradual breakdown of the crystal lattice and amorphization of the zeolite.
