Popis:	Data are provided on the morphology, age composition of catches, maturation, fecundity, and feeding of the European whitefish from a high-mountain lake in the Altai. The taxonomic status of the species and possible ways of its naturalization in the lake as a result of fish breeding and acclimatization measures are discussed.
