Popis: | The relationship between autonomy, as a job resource, and work engagement of faculty members at Jordanian private universities was examined. This relationship was found of interest to assist in identifying the reason behind the low level of job satisfaction among Jordanian faculty members. A quantitative correlational survey design research method was used to collect data from 112 faculty members who are currently employed at Jordanian private universities. Correlational statistics were used to answer the research question related to the relationship between autonomy and work engagement. The P-value was found at a significant level of .000 for autonomy on the level of work engagement of faculty members. It was found that by providing autonomy to faculty member of Jordanian private universities might increase their work engagement and performance. Future research recommendations made to encourage researchers to explore the appropriate level of autonomy that might be sufficient to improve faculty members' work engagement. |
