Background: Buttock augmentation surgery is on the risein the recent years. Different approaches exist with differentadvantages and complication rates. Furthermore, ethnic groupsmight have different aesthetic demands.Material and Methods: Here, we describe our experiencewith a combined lipofilling and silicone implant approach in20 female Egyptian patients.Results: Our results reveal both an objective success withan average achieved waist-to-hip ratio of 0.78 after 6 monthspost-operatively, together with a subjective success withstatistically-significantly higher scores reported by both thepatients and two independent aesthetic surgeons. Our complicationrates were minimal and planned for.Conclusion: Gluteal lipofilling can thus safely and effectivelybe combined with silicone implants for gluteal enhancement,giving better shape and projection and avoiding implantdissatisfaction. |
