Popis: This study examines hydrogenassisted fracture in the nitrogenstrengthened, austenitic stainless-steel 22Cr-13Ni-5Mn (22-13-5) emphasizing the effects of processing and heat treatment. The effects of tritium and decay helium on fracture of forged 22-13-5 are characterized, and the results show that 22-13-5 is attractive for service in hydrogen environments and help to define the processing and microstructure windows required for acceptable properties.
