Popis: The new genus and species Diplolaeviopsis ranula is described for a pycnidial fungus commensalistic to pathogenic on the apothecia and thalli of the Lecanora strobilina group in Spain. It is distinguished from other lichenicolous coelomycetes so far described in the arrangement of the conidiogenous cells on short conidiophores and in the production of 1-septate colourless elongate-soleiform or tadpole-like conidia in which the upper cell is broad and rounded and the lower attenuated and sometimes slightly curved. It appears to occupy a rather isolated position within the coelomycetes.
