Summary To obtain high-precision velocity model is a key step for 3DVSP. Velocity analysis based on angle domain common image gathers (ADCIGs) is becoming an available tool to build a good velocity model for pre-stack depth migration (PSDM) in surface seismic data processing. This technique is introduced in 3DVSP velocity analysis. Firstly ADCIGs are formed and their residual curvatures are computed after migration. Secondly the velocity spectral function can be calculated by residual curvatures of ADCIGs and then the ratio of estimated velocity to true velocity can be obtained. Thirdly migration velocity can be iteratively updated by . Finally two examples of synthetic and field data are demonstrated and good results show this is one of good velocity analysis methods for 3DVSP. |
