Popis: | Due to low space utilization rate of traditional magnetic field generator, an improved 3-D magnetic field generator with compact structure and larger uniform region is proposed in this paper. Compared with the traditional Helmholtz coil, a pair of auxiliary coil is introduced in each dimension. To design this compact field generator, five model parameters need to be optimized according to user's requirement on uniformity. Finally, a field generator was built and tested to validate the improved coils and its design method. Validation process shows that the tested field result fits the desired one very well, maximum design error is only 0.12%. More important, improved field generator possesses only 1/13.6 of the volume consumed by traditional Helmholtz coil in the premise of the same uniformity. |
