Popis: | Considerable changes of serum FSH, LH and E 2 in response to hormonal treatment were recorded in a patient with resistant-ovary syndrome during one year of observation. The FSH levels ranged initially from 28 to 180 IU/l; after treatment leuproreline (Lpr) and HMG, respectively, they decreased to 5 to 12 IU/l. Serum E 2 reacted to injections of HMG with a marked increase, but the amplitude of the response diminished in subsequent treatment cycles. After one year of observation, the patient ovulated spontaneously several times. Conclusion: The resistant-ovary syndrome is a variant of premature menopause characterised by a normal supplement of unresponsive follicles which may, however, termporarily regain normal function. |
