We reconstruct the population history of South and Southeast shellmound builders of Brazil using dental morphology as a proxy for neutral genetic markers. We analyzed several dental non-metric traits from individuals of different archaeological sites of São Paulo, Paraná and Santa Catarina states, with dates ranging between the Early- to Late-Holocene. This is part of a PhD project carried at Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia da Universidade de São Paulo. Grants: FAPESP 2017/20637-4, FAPESP 2019/18289-3, CAPES 001. |
