Recent Time-Of-Flight studies of hole transport in θ-conjugated polymers , a methoxyphenyl-substituted poly(p-phenylene vinylene) (PPV) [1,2] and poly(p-phenylene sulfide) (PPS) [3,4] revealed that the features of transport are similar to those observed in σ-conjugated polymers such as polysilylenes. The close resemblance of transport behavior of both groups of polymers to molecularly doped polymers and poly(N-vinyl-carbazole) suggests that intersite hopping is the predominant mechanism of hole transport even in π-conjugated polymers. |
