Popis: Tribological polymer composite materials are widely used in various industries. In particular, polymer composites with self-lubricating properties are of great interest in replacing metal parts in various friction units of machines and technical equipment. In this review, we systematically analyze the latest information on the development of polymer composite materials with (1) nanosized particles, (2) layered silicates, and (3) fibrous fillers. The main technological methods for producing the polymer composites and their influence on the results of friction and wear of materials are described. The results of a study of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) with layered silicates and combined fillers (layered silicates with carbon fibers) are discussed. We also explain the friction and wear mechanisms of PTFE/layered silicates composites as the adaptation to friction due to the formation of secondary structures on the friction surface protecting from wear.
