Popis:	An experimental study of interstrand contact stresses existing in a stranded cable while it rests in its supporting clamp has been made using the stress-freezing photoelastic technique. Comparing the results with the Hertz contact-stress theory made it possible to establish criterion for suspension-clamp design.
