Popis: | The essential oil of Cnidoscolus aconitifolius was tested for antibacterial activity against 3 bacteria strains: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhi using agar disc diffusion technique. The oil exhibited considerable antibacterial activity at minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) of 2.0mg/mL and 20.5mg/mL for E. coli and 2.8mg/mL and 28.2mg/mL for S. typhi respectively, but was ineffective against P. aeruginosa. |
