Popis: | We propose an original architecture for a monolithic electrically injected optical parametric oscillator based on a high-power distributed feedback laser diode and a nonlinear waveguide. In the epitaxial structure, the two optical cavities are set apart to avoid free carrier loss for the nonlinear interaction and coupled through a vertical modal converter. We discuss the constitutive elements of the device for which we estimate a parametric oscillation threshold of the order of 1 mW. |
