Popis: Liquid phase epitaxial processes for growth of mercury cadmium telluride thin films are computer simulated. Emphasis is placed on comparison of two basic approaches to growth: isothermal supersaturated deposition and the conventional, controlled cooling process. Constancy of growth rate is best achieved by controlled cooling, if the conditions are carefully selected. Isothermal growth offers a constant composition throughout the deposited layer with reasonable growth rates for relatively small supercoolings.
