Popis: The target detection process in radar involves the process of comparing the received signal with the estimated threshold. This detection process is vital to distinguish between targets or noise. A major challenge in this detection process is not to overflow the radar processor with false alarms. Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR) is an algorithm that can maintain a false alarms rate. This paper investigates the performance of Cell Averaging CFAR (CA-CFAR), Smallest of Cell Averaging CFAR (SOCA-CFAR), Greatest of Cell Averaging CFAR (GOCA-CFAR), and Order Statistics CFAR (OS-CFAR) algorithm in multiple targets environment in sea clutter simulated on SPX-Radar-Simulator. Their detection performances are evaluated in two aspects: detection rate and processing time. The experiment result for the target detection rate in SPX-Radar-Simulator shows that OS-CFAR is the best method for detecting targets, but the processing time is longer than other methods.
