Models for calculating the ecotourism potential in the Arctic region

Popis: Ecotourism as the basis for the territory development is determined by a certain quantitatively measured capacity of the territory. Also, all planned activities cannot exceed the load level, which is calculated for the tourist destination to retain its properties. The relevance of the study of calculating the ecotourism potential model is connected with the Arctic region currently being unique in its properties, which makes its tourist capacity is very limited. The novelty of the study is the development of a methodology for assessing the potential of ecotourism, factoring in the shortcomings of all current methods of such an assessment. The authors consider not only the evaluation mechanism itself, but also present its mathematical apparatus. In particular, it is determined that for each of the regions the introduction of correlation coefficients is required depending on the specialization of a particular region. The authors identify features of the assessment on the part of not only the management mechanism, but also the convenience of conducting the assessment for tourists themselves. The practical application of the developed assessment system is the construction of user-specific mechanisms for assessing and rating regions by the ease of use and the availability of tourism infrastructure.
