Popis:	Flocculation of micro-organisms in their complex media is shown to be difficult. The natural cationic flocculant chitosan can successfully flocculate yeast from a complex broth. The difficulty caused by complex media is believed due to the flocculant preferentially complexing with anionic polymers in the media, rendering it ineffective as a flocculant.
