Popis: The study is aim to developed a model that examines the effect of unemployment and economic growth on terrorism activities in Nigeria by adopting immiserizing modernization theory with a simulation using a linear quantile modelling approach. The study covers a period between 1990 to 2020 using annual data. The result from the study shows that, increase in unemployment leads to higher level of terrorism activity in the country especially Boko Haram activities having a higher impact. It is also found that, lower economic growth contribute to higher terrorism, as a result of the poor performance in various sector of the economy especially government expenditure on security will then became too low. The result point to an urgent need to control the level of unemployment by injecting more in the economy to promote various sectors which will definitely increase job opportunities and provision of an enabling environment for the working population to engage themselves in a more efficient sector of the economy capable in absorbing larger percentage of our youth, especially agro-allied industry which will further improve the economic performance.JEL classification; E24, J64, O40
