ABSTRACT The result of a small-scale experimental research based on the Vivifrail Program is presented. In 2019, physical function tests have been proposed to older adults from two retirement centers in Pieyro, Avellaneda. Then, a proposal for multicomponent physical exercise and other healthy habits were designed and applied as a strategy for the preservation of functional ability for three months. At the end, the functionality of the participants was re-evaluated. The results prove that this training was effective in preserving functional ability and reducing the risk of falls in people over 60 years of age, since 88% of the participants reached the functionality of a robust person, and only 19% showed risk of falls. In addition, this program could be applied in a community social context (not sanitary) and in a group (not personalized) even with people with heterogeneous functionality. |
