In the present world, people using smart phones with GPS navigation feature have increased drastically. Hence, smart phones can be used for personal safety as well as for various protection purposes especially for women around the globe. Many unfortunate incidents have been taking place due to which the need of women safety application is arising. Crisis may come from any direction and in such situations, women need to help themselves. This paper presents LOOKOUT—The Emergency App, a personal safety application developed for smartphones on android platform. The application can be activated by a single click of the panic button when in crisis. The proposed approach helps to acquire the live location of users and send alert messages (SOS) consisting of the location coordinates of the user in a URL format. The key feature of this application is that, with the emergency contacts, the nearest police stations also get an alert message sent by the user and the prediction of danger zones using multilayer perceptron. Additional feature of fake call is used generate calls that helps the victim to be rescued from unnecessary situations to distract the offender. |
