Popis: | Aqueous extracts of leaves of Ocimum gratissimum, Acalypha ciliata, Vernonia amyygdalina, Mangifera indica and Azadirachta indica were evaluated for the control Fusarium moniliforme on seeds of maize (Zea mays). The seeds were soaked sterile distilled water in 10, 20, and 30% (W/V) for 12, 24 and 48hr. All the plant extracts had significant inhibitory growth effect on the fungal pathogen. Acalypha ciliata extract was more effective than other plant extracts and compared favorably with benomyl in the control of the pathogen. |
