Leadership in Hospitality Education: Why Are There So Few Women?

Popis:	There are few women in the higher levels of hospitality educational administration. This raises larger questions of whether women are attaining the highest levels of pay and prestige in the field. Results of a survey of those in the field show that male and female hospitality educators are paid significantly different salaries, but that the traditional areas of faculty performance (teaching, research, and service) are not performed at significantly different levels. Results indicate that possible discriminatory patterns against women in leadership positions exist or that additional factors not included in this study are responsible.
