Popis: An observational cross-sectional study was carried out from December 2018 to January 2019. The aim of this study was to investigate the profile, knowledge, access, acceptability and the perception of the integrative and complementary practices in health (ICPH) by users, in a Secondary Health Care Unit in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais. A semi-structured questionnaire was taken by one hundred (N=100) users, over 18 years old, who underwent ICP treatment in the Department of integrative and Complementary practices (DICP). The study consisted mainly of womankind, mean age of 53 years, monthly family income of up to one minimum wage and incomplete elementary education. The interviewees at least have heard about (ICP), 43% acquired this knowledge through friends and homeopathy was the most known practice (99.0%). 98.6% of the interviewees have already chosen to use ICP and 45.0% agreed that the reference to the service occurred naturally. 92.0% of the users reported significant improvement after starting therapy and 77.0% showed interest in using some therapies. All claimed to use or have already used at ICP, which shows their high recommendation. Most users are not fully served by the unit’s pharmacy, but this was not a limiting factor regarding the continuity of treatment. The results revealed that PICS, offered by Unified Health System (Sistema Unico de Saude) (SUS), are well known and greatly utilized by the population.
