Popis: | Gracilaria verrucosa is one of the species used as a source of the phycocolloid, agar (Michanek, 1975; Mathieson, 1982). Growth studies of several species of Gracilaria indicated that maximum growth of algal biomass is related to seasonal increase in temperature and (or) irradiance maxima. (Conover, 1958; Edwards amp; Kapraun, 1973; Bird et al., 1977, 1979); Rosenberg amp; Ramus, 1982a, b). |
