Popis: When comparing field infestations of Amblyomma americanum (L.) on woodlot-pastured Brahman and Hereford cattle in 1976 and 1977, significant differences between breeds were found for females and nymphs in 1976 and males and females in 1977. Fewer larvae, nymphs, and females were observed on Brahman at various stages of engorgement. When compared to Hereford, ticks removed from Brahman in 1977 were lighter, females laid less eggs, and few immature ticks molted.
