Urinary bladder neoplasia in the dog; a review of seventy cases

Popis:	The history, presenting signs, clinical and histopathological diagnosis, and outcome of seventy cases of urinary bladder neoplasia in the dog are described. Sixty-two cases had primary tumours, 44 being transitional cell carcinomas and none survived post-operatively for more than a few weeks. Several cases of papillomas were incidental findings at cystotomy for calculi. Factors in the poor prognosis included metastases, progressive uraemia associated with mechanical obstruction of the bladder neck or ureters due to site and size of the lesions and increasingly severe urinary tenesmus and haematuria.
