Paramagnetic ([5]Trovacenyl)phenylphosphane: Intramolecular Electronic Communication and Construction of Heterobimetallic Palladium and Chromium Complexes

Popis: Group 15 P-atom-bridged paramagnetic unsymmetric sandwich binuclear di([5]trovacenyl)phenylphosphane (2··) was prepared and characterized by mass spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). The investigation of 2·· by means of cyclic voltammetry (CV), electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy, and magnetic susceptibility (SQUID) revealed weak intramolecular electronic communication. The coordination ability of 2·· with the transition metals palladium and chromium was explored to afford unprecedented heterobimetallic complexes 34· and 44·, respectively, which were characterized by mass spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and/or X-ray diffraction analysis.
