Study of the Sea Foam Impact on the Wind-Wave Interaction Within the Laboratory Modeling

Popis: The results of laboratory modeling of the foam effect on the short-wave part of the surface wave spectrum and on the pulse exchange in the boundary layer of the atmosphere are presented. It is shown that the height and root-mean-square slope of the waves decrease with an increase in area of the surface covered with foam. At the same time, a significant increase in the coefficient of drag due to an increase in the overall surface roughness, not associated with waves, is demonstrated.
