Popis: In human communities, dogs possess complex and varied roles, such as companion animals and family members, sacred icons or working animals used for protection. The habit of some dog owners of not removing dog faeces from the streets after their dog has messed, is a public and environmental health concern. While the effects of dog faeces in public spaces on individuals are known, it is not known how frequently dog fouling occurs and what factors increase or decrease it. This protocol presents a framework for a scoping review aimed at providing a broad understanding of the literature on the prevalence, incidence of dog fouling, as well as its human, canine and environmental risk and protective factors in urban cities.
