Popis: The European Association of Remote Sensing Laboratories (EARSeL) was founded in 1976 to foster cooperation between laboratories and institutions engaged in the development of methods of acquiring and analysing remote sensing data. From the initial six laboratories the Association now comprises more than 250 member laboratories, thus grouping moTe than 3000 scientists and technical personnel working in almost all fields of remote sensing of the Earth surface and its atmosphere. It is sponsored by the Commission of the European Economic Community, the European Space Agency and the Network of Scientific and Technical Co-operation of the Council of Europe. EARSeL represents a great deal of expertise which is exploited in various working groups on specific subjects and in contractual work mainly for the sponsoring organizations.
