Cells Transformed by Transfer of Isolated Chromosomes from Virus-Transformed or ‘Spontaneous’ Tumor Cells

Popis:	13 cell lines obtained upon exposure of normal cells to chromosomes from virus-transformed (group A) or ‘spontaneous’ tumor cells (group B), besides displaying in vitro phenotype changes characteristic of transformed cells, are also capable (with two exceptions within group A) of producing progressively growing tumors in athymic nude mice. Of these lines, the possibility that they are donor-cell contaminants can be definitely, excluded in 10 cases, and there is some evidence against such a possibility in 2 of the 3 remaining lines. That these lines are recipient cells having undergone ‘spontaneous’ transformation can be excluded for group A but cannot be rigorously excluded for group B.
