In this paper a new configuration of a wind energy conversion system (WECS) supplying power to the dc-link regulated load is presented. The system is developed with two induction generators (IGs) connected to variable speed wind turbines (WTs). With the aim to concentrate the IGs power flow control in one unit and reduce the installed in WT gondola equipment weight a single static compensator (STATCOM) outside WTs is used. Based on the vector control technique the IGs power flow controller is proposed. Simulations are performed to validate the capability of the system to supply dc load at two operation modes. |
