Thermodynamic incompatibility parameters of a polyarylene-polybutadiene system and their relation to the properties of polyblock copolymers based on it

Popis: The possibility of quantitative characterization of segregation in block-copolymers by experimental evaluation of the incompatibility parameters corresponding to isolated blocks has been analyzed for the example of a polyblock copolymer-poly(arylene sulphonoxide-butadiene). The ternary phase diagrams were studied for a wide range of MM and degrees of solvent selectivity, the critical separation concentrations were determined and the interaction parameters of the polymers were calculated. The parameters obtained have been compared with the change of free energy of mixing of the blocks in the block-copolymer, with the segregation parameters determined by small angle X-ray diffraction with the positions of the transition temperatures and structural and mechanical properties of the block copolymer.
