Three cases of autonomous hot nodules of the thyroid (toxic adenomas) coexisting with thyroid cancer are reported, and the scintigraphic findings presented. In the first case the carcinoma appeared as a cold area within the hot nodule: in the second the hot nodule was on the right lobe, whereas the carcinoma involved the left lobe and the isthmus; and in the third case there were two benign autonomous hot nodules together with a malignant cold nodule. |
