Popis: | The goal of this study is to look at the digital competence and ICT literacy of school teachers in Sri Lanka's Nintavur division. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) knowledge is now considered to be a vital skill for teachers at all levels, in addition to their knowledge of their subject. Recently, there has been a lot of attention paid to digital competence and ICT literacy because it is seen as a way to improve society’s level of knowledge and, in turn, the country’s knowledge index. When teachers evaluate their own digital competence, they need to think outside of the box and look at things as to how they can get information on the internet, use digital devices and apps, share content on the internet with other people, and how well they can manage information using different digital sources. In light of this, this preliminary study looks into what extent school teachers in the Nintavur division are digitally competent and how well they use ICT. This study employed a questionnaire to look at teachers’ willingness, readiness, and ability to use ICTs and their current digital competence in teaching and education, as well as how they use these skills in their work. |
