| Popis: | The purpose of this paper is to look at various problems in the Indonesian border region, especially in the Maluku Province with Timor Leste. This study used a qualitative method by conducting a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with students at the Indonesian Christian University in Maluku. Information is also obtained from various sources, such as various results of studies on borders, regulations, and legislation on borders. The main source of this paper is National Agency for Border Management Regulation, Peraturan BNPP No. 1 2015, concerning the Master Plan for State Border Management in 2015-2019. In reality, there are many problems faced by border areas. For this reason, better development needs to be done by prioritizing the welfare approach, sustainability environmental approach, and security approach. Significant problems are the isolation of the region and the lagging level of regional development, the management of natural resources is still not optimal the low availability of quality and quantity of human resources, and vulnerability in the field of defense and security in the region. |
