Summary Diacylglyceryl-A-D-Glucuronide (Dgga) Has Been Isolated From Ochromonas Danica (Chrysophyceae) And Characterized By Ir And Nmr Spectroscopy, Mass Spectrometry And By Chemical And Chromatographic Data Of The Intact Lipid And Derivatives Of It. This Lipid Component Accounts For About 3 % Of The Total Glycerolipids Of Ochromonas And Is Identical To The Lipid C First Reported By Nichols And Appleby (1969). Lipids Of This Type Have Been Found In Bacteria Before, But Not In Plants. High Amounts Of Arachidonic (20: 4, 27 %) and docosapentaenoic (22: 5, 39 %) acids are characteristic of DGGA, which, based on the positional distribution of the fatty acids, is of cytoplasmic origin. |
