Popis: During the process of crude oil production, storage and transportation, oil and water layers will be formed under the action of gravity due to different oil and water densities. Sedimentary water at the bottom of the tank will occupy a large amount of storage space and increase unnecessary storage and transportation costs. Accurate detection of oil-water interface of oil storage tank can accurately measure oil storage in the tank, and provide an important guarantee for oil-water separation. Nowadays, most of the oil-water interface detection methods have low detection accuracy, and need to put the instrument into the tank. The potential safety hazard is bigger. It’s does not meet the requirements of safety and environmental protection inspection of oil storage tanks which directly results in the limited use of the detection instrument, short service life and heavy maintenance workload. This paper presents a new ultrasonic oil-water level detection technology to detect oil-water interface. According to the different attenuation characteristics of ultrasonic wave in air and liquid, it can effectively distinguish whether the medium in tank is air or liquid. The experimental results show that the instrument has strong anti-interference ability, stability and reliability, and the measurement error for oil products with relatively low viscosity is less than 3%. The non-contact measuring method is fully used in this instrument, which is safe, environmental friendly, portable and efficient, and can realize accurate measurement of oil tank under sealed condition.
