Popis: Computer-assisted design of primary cementing is the main tool for the cementing engineer to ensure the success of the cementing and zonal isolation objectives. The results of the simulations are utilized for well planning and operational planning so that the cement job execution can be performed to meet those objectives. Outputs from the simulation are also used to develop slurry testing schedules for the laboratory. Simulation outputs also provide visualization of the cement job and simulation data that the cementing and drilling engineer can use for cement job evaluation, and a record for well integrity. Cementing simulation is a large topic that encompasses physical modeling, numerical modeling, computing optimization, machine interface, and simulation output. This chapter focuses on the practical applications of simulation, which inputs the engineer should focus on, modeling considerations, and simulation results applications.
