Popis: Position verification is a technique used to check the validity of a position report sent from a mobile station (MS) to a base station (BS), with the aim of detecting spoofing. For example, the MS-BS distance measured by an independent means can be used. Position verification is different from traditional localization in various aspects. However, localization also can be used for position verification when enough measurements are available. To find the best approach, position verification with and without localization should be compared. As part of the effort, the test statistic of position verification with localization is derived in this paper.
