Popis:	Sorption of preservatives by cellulose nitrate and cellulose acetate membrane filters was reviewed from literature and determined experimentally. Benzalkonium chloride was sorbed in a higher amount by the rather hydrophilic cellulose nitrate than by the less hydrophilic cellulose acetate. Phenylmercuric borate however, was sorbed in a certain amount by cellulose acetate but hardly by cellulose nitrate. We could not detect any sorption of chlorhexidine digluconate.
