Perimeter Dependence of Oscillation Frequency Property of Resonant Tunneling Diode Terahertz Oscillator Using Split Ring Resonator

Popis: Resonant tunneling diode (RTD) terahertz oscillator without a metal–insulator–metal (MIM) capacitor offers easy deployment. Here, we propose RTD oscillators using different perimeters of square split ring resonators (SRRs) without MIM capacitors. The RTD is integrated into the center split gap of the SRR. Coplanar stripline antennas are integrated with the SRR to increase the output power. The highest measured oscillation frequency is 1.22 THz with an output power of ~7 µW.
