Popis: | Monolayers of two tetrakis(meso-undecyl)porphyrins adsorbed at the interface of a liquid and highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) and Au(111) surfaces have been investigated with scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). Both molecules form stable monolayers on these surfaces, and topographic images have been obtained down to the submolecular level. For the first time, scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STS) has been used to reveal the electronic properties of this type of molecules at a solid–liquid interface. |
