Popis: The objective of the study was to identify behaviors of dentists in the treatment of elderly patients with chronic non-communicable disease (CNCD). This is a literature review, in the Pubmed, Scielo and Virtual Health Library databases, using the descriptors: elderly, chronically ill and dentistry. Inclusion criteria were: qualitative studies, surveys and mixed, with elderly people with CNCD, dentistry; and complete papers, in English and Portuguese. The search resulted in 1,302 scientific articles, after removing duplicates and checking the inclusion criteria, two articles were included. Carrying out a detailed clinical examination and communication between professional and patient are important DC conducts in the treatment of elderly patients with CNCD. Therefore, it is essential that the dental surgeon has knowledge of chronic non-communicable diseases and their conduct for the safe and humanized care of elderly patients and thus proceed with dental treatment.
