We report inelastic neutron scattering experiments on the heavy fermion compound CeRu2Si2, performed on single crystals at low temperatures (T ≳ 1.3 K) and under a magnetic field (H ≲ 100 kOe) applied along the easy c-axis. At low temperatures and in low fields, the magnetic scattering is composed of two contributions: a localized one of quasi-elastic type and an inelastic one centred around h ω0 ⋍ 1.2 meV and peaked at the wave vectors q1 = (0.3, 0.3, 0) and q2 = (0.3, 0, 0), associated with magnetic correlations. A magnetic field applied along the easy axis destroys the magnetic correlations above a critical field Hc ⋍ 83 kOe. |
